The purpose and scope of the Inspections & Investigations Group of the PLFD is as follows:

• To coordinate all of the district’s pre-fire planning inspections as well as all residential and non-residential fire prevention inspections;
• To coordinate all the district’s fire investigation activities to include: investigation of all structural fires as well as investigation of all non-structural fires of a suspicious nature;
• To assist residents, business owners and all other members of the district with proper fire prevention planning to include residential and non-residential fire escape routes and fire drills.

Members within the PLFD response district can call Station 1 @ 334-358-0202 to request an inspector to come out and help with pre-fire planning for any residence or business location.
